Lt Col. CCR Murphy's "History of the Suffolk Regiment 1914-1927" does not tell us where it happened, but states that on 22nd June 1915 Sgt. G Robins was mortally wounded, the first death in the battalion and the only death that day. The war diary seems to indicate he was actually wounded on the 17th June in 'Ploeg Street Wood' and died later. Much of the time the battalion seems to be "enjoying" various route marches.

The Newmarket Journal reported :-
SERGT. GUY ROBINS

"We regret to hear that Sergt.Guy Robins, of Moulton, has been seriously wounded. The news was received at Isleham( where Mr Robins is exceedingly popular) with much sorrow. Mr. Robins has since died.

and later the Journal stated, on 3rd July:-
SERGT. GUY ROBINS

"The death of Sergt. Guy Robins, of Moulton, is much lamented at Isleham, where he was extremely popular. A splendid sportsman and a gallant soldier, he has met a hero's death. Mr G.B.Robins and family have the sympathy of all in this village."
